A survey conducted by Redshift Research and sponsored by Cisco showed that 87% of youngsters prefer to work for a company that is “video enabled” rather than one that goes without. Moreover, 84% of those who took part in the survey would rely on meetings with videos for at least one out of every four interactions.
Along with using video as a collaboration tool, majority of the young respondents also called for very high quality of the tools used. This could be because they are so accustomed to using technology even from early days that they are not ready to compromise on the speed and quality.
2) Use of Video conferencing outside the traditional virtual meeting room
Ever since Microsoft acquired Skype in 2011, the average social video calls each year from Skype has reached 8 million hours according to Lovina McMurchy - General Manager of Skype Advertising. This trend in video call will change the attitude of people and takes away the stigma associated with choosing multi user video conferencing over face to face meetings.
In addition to using multi user video conference for social interaction, it is widely used for interviews as well. Multinational companies always seek global talent.
